Monday - Feb. 8th games rescheduled
The basketball games scheduled for Monday, Feb 8, 2010 with Patuxent have been rescheduled.  The Girls Basketball teams will  travel to Patuxent on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 while the Boys Basketball teams will travel to Patuxent on Thursday, Feb 11, 2010.  Check back for updates.
 
Friday - Feb 5th games postponed
The boys and girls basketball games with North Point have been postponed from Friday, February 5, 2010.  The Boys games will be made up on Monday, February 15, 2010 (Presidents Day) with the freshman starting at 4:00, JV's at 5:30, and Varsity at 7:00 at North Point High School.  The Girls games with North Point will be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Thomas Stone High School with the JV's starting at 5:00 and the Varsity at 6:30 PM.
 
No date has been set for the wrestling match with Patuxent.  Check back for further details.
 
Spring Sports Meeting Set
The pre-season meeting for spring sports (boys and girls lacrosse, softball, baseball, boys and girls track, boys and girls tennis) has been set for Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM in the cafeteria.  Eligibility forms may be picked up in the main office or in the athletic director's office.
 
Booster Club Meeting
The next monthly athletic booster meeting of the 2009-2010 school year will be on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 6:30 PM in the media center. 
 
Winter Cheerleading Competition Postponed Again
The Charles County Winter Cheerleading Competition scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2010 (and February 2) at North Point High School has been postponed to Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 6:30 PM.  The competition will still take place at North Point High School
 
Wrestling vs. Patuxent rescheduled
The wrestling match scheduled with Patuxent for Tuesday, February 2, 2010 has been rescheduled for Friday, February 5, 2010 in the Auxuliary Gym.  There will be no admission charge for this wrestling match.
 
Patuxent/Thomas Stone Basketball Games Rescheduled
The Boys and Girls Basketball games scheduled for Wednesday, February 3, 2010 have been rescheduled due to weather.  The Girls Basketball teams will host Patuxent on Thursday, February 4, 2010 with the JV game starting at 5:00 PM and the Varsity game starting at 6:30.
The Boys Basketball games with Patuxent will be played on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Thomas Stone High School instead of at Patuxent High School.  The Freshman game will start at 4:00, JV's at 5:30, and Varsity at 7:00.
 

NCAA Clearinghouse Calculator Program free for Thomas Stone High School Parents and Student Athletes

We are pleased to inform you that Thomas Stone High School is making the Corecoursegpa.com, a web-base interactive tool, available to all ThomasStoneHigh School student-athletes and their parents/guardians free of charge. 

 

If your child has aspirations of competing athletically as a freshman at an NCAA Division I or Division II school, they must meet NCAA Initial-Eligibility minimum standards , including core course GPA and SAT/ACT test score requirements.  Corecoursegpa.com is an innovative tool that allows you to easily track your son or daughter’s progress towards meeting these requirements, beginning as soon as their first semester of their freshman year.  IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT YOUR USE OF THE CLEARINGHOUSE CALCULATOR IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR ACTUALLY REGISTERING WITH THE NCAAELIGIBILITYCENTER. You will be able to learn more about the NCAAEligibilityCenter in the Important Topics option in your Clearinghouse Calculator account.

 

To activate your child’s Corecoursegpa.com membership, follow these simple steps:

 

1 –           Go to www.corecoursegpa.com

 

2 –           Enter School ID and School Code in the New Member Account Creationbox:

 

Students/parents:

                        School ID: 211054

School Code: 710105062

 

               3-         Click Continue.

 

4 –           Fill in the appropriate fields in the CreateNew Student Account form.

**Remember to write down the new Member Name and Password you have created**

 

5 –           Click “Submit.

Congratulations! You have successfully created your Corecoursegpa.com member account.

 

 

To login to your member account and begin using the Corecoursegpa.com software, follow these simple steps:

 

1-             Go to www.corecoursegpa.com

 

2 –           Enter your Member Name and Password in the Existing Member Login box.

**Use the Member Name and Password you created during the account activation process**

 

3 –           Click “Login.”

Begin using your Corecoursegpa.com!!

 

The Corecoursegpa.com incorporates Thomas Stone High School’s NCAA recognized core courses into the online forms, calculates BOTH Division I and Division II core course GPA, automatically incorporates weighted grades into calculations and tracks course requirements for BOTH Division I and Division II.  Your son or daughter’s core course information is saved for the duration of their high school career. 

 

Thomas Stone High School is proud to make this innovative software available to you free of charge.  We believe the Corecoursegpa.com will be a very useful academic tool for you and your student-athlete.
